What is the PLASMA Pen and how does it work?
The Plasma Pen treatment is a revolutionary method for a perfect face and body rejuvenation. It is important to stress that Plasma is a non-surgical technique where no scalpels or any other surgical instruments are used. The Plasma Pen treatment is an active answer to patients need for beauty treatments that provides a perfect look but is not based on surgical methods as there are no surgical risks involved.
The Plasma treatment uses the fourth state of matter – plasma. Tissues are treated “sublimate” and we avoid spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas. The principle is to ionize gas in the air to create a small electrical arch, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which dermal and epidermal areas, are affected by aesthetic problems, may be treated without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas.When the electrical arch – plasma – touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is subsequently transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin cells. Consequently, the excess skin is reduced, and the result tightens, tones and lifts the skin and wrinkle reduction. Most, if not all, methods of skin resurfacing are based on creating a controlled skin damage, which activates its healing, and this leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging. Even though skin layers receive a controlled injury by plasma pen (by heating, fragmentation, vaporization-sublimation and tightening, they do not burn off as they largely do under ablative laser and, importantly, there are no open wounds during the healing phase. This is extremely important as this approach reduces the risk of side effects such as scarring, infection, or loss of pigmentation etc.
After the treatment small dry spots – scabs form. They need 5-7 days to fall off during this time the client should keep the skin surface clean (use Octenisept and lukewarm water) and keep it moist. Plasma pen works similarly to an ablative (fractional) laser. The plasma pen creates a perfect controlled injury to very specific skin cells to encourage skin tightening, cell division, cell proliferation and collagen production. This does not only improve the skin tightening, tone and texture, but it can also reduce scarring, improve a number of common skin problems and increase skin contour.
When will you start seeing results?
There is a rapid improvement seen after the PDO thread lift treatments with a visible lift in the regions treated. This will improve over a span of 2-6 months as fresh collagen develops between the threads and gives further lift and tightening to the skin. The PDO threads gradually dissolve over about 6 months, but the resulting lift remains for 9-12 months.
